Playgrounds can be a great place for a child to have fun and get some exercise, but they can also cause some safety concerns. Each year, more than 200,000 children go to the emergency room with injuries associated with playground equipment. The Danger Rangers teach kids that they can have fun while staying safe at the playground!
Remember these safety tips before going to the playground.
Make sure surfaces around playground equipment have at least 12 inches of wood chips, mulch, sand, or pea gravel, or are mats made of safety-tested rubber or rubber like materials.
Wait your turn to play if there is someone ahead of you. Only one child should be on the slide or swing at a time.
Carefully supervise children on playgrounds to make sure they are safe.
Check playgrounds regularly to see that equipment and surfacing are in good condition.
Pushing and shoving on the playground in NOT a Danger Proof Plan.
Have fun at the playground but remember that Safety Rules!
